Point No Point

Painting of the Point No Point Lighthouse, located in the Chesapeake bay, from the viewpoint of a boat. This Caisson lighthouse rests on a concrete pillar off the coast of Ridge, Maryland. By 1962, it stopped being staffed and began falling into disrepair. The structure is now home to ospreys and seagulls, which are often seen flying around it. At the time this painting was created, there was a forest fire on the east coast, resulting in a red shifted sunset. For the water, I utilized an impasto technique with a pallet knife to add texture to the piece.
